Change of Heart

I've decided not to continue critiquing the Harlequin stories. The purpose of this blog is to help people write and submit romances to Woman's World and analyzing stories that aren't held to the same guidelines as the "normal" stories serves no purpose. Thanks for understanding.

That is certainly understandable, Kate. I believe those Harlequin stories are simply meant to advertise the brand and do not represent the actual Woman's World theme of romance. I would like to see them appear in the Harlequin ad which is already a full page. It would probably be less confusing to the Woman's World reader and perhaps be more effective for the Harlequin product. I wonder if the editors have considered that.

I agree completely, Kate. I don't even like to read them because they aren't the kind of stories that I associate with Woman's World. I agree with Mary Jo about putting them on their own page.

To be fair, I really did like some of the stories.

I agree and totally understand, Kate. I have enjoyed some of the stories, but they are really so different from a WW story. I do like the idea of a Harlequin ad page. I wonder if Harlequin is doing these to see if they want to publish short stories for romance readers? It will be interesting to see what happens when the year comes to a close.
